8th grade DLC Reflection

How do the chemicals affect the water and life in the Gulf?

Are there other, more Eco friendly ways to clean the oil spill up?

Does the oil and chemicals that the bacteria eats, harm or effect them?

  1. Hi Hannah! I am going to try and help answer your first question: how do the chemicals affect the water and life in the gulf?

Well these chemicals are very harmful and toxic. They can do all sorts of damage to the marine Iife in that area. The fish will either eat the toxins up or pull them in when they suck in the water for oxygen. When these fish eat the toxins, they are basically poisoning their whole body and if another predator fish comes to eat it, the predator fish will also be poisoned. And then like a chain reaction, all other predators will be poisoned up to humans.

    I hope this helped!
